Mumbai: After committing the most shocking crime and scarring the life of a young photojournalist, the gang-rape accused showed no signs of any nervousness or guilty conscious. The interrogation of a prime accused revealed that he was at ease after the gang-rape that bolsters police theory that they might have been involved in sexual offenses in the past.
One of the prime accused in the photo journalist gang rape case Vijay Jadhav, 19, who was arrested from a video parlour in Madanpura, Agripada, told cops that he took part in the Dahi Handi practice session in the BDD chawl and then had tea at a stall. He met the other accused Salim Ansari after which the two slept at a nearby fish market.
The next day, the two went to Maratha Mandir in Mumbai Central to watch the matinee show of “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”.
By the time the film got over, they got the information of the arrest of Chand Babu Sattar Sheikh. Thereafter, Jadhav hid at Madanpura in a video parlour, Ansari boarded a train to Delhi.
One of the nabbed accused of the shocking Mumbai gang-rape case, Kasim Bengali had allegedly invited the other accused Chand Sattar Sheikh over the phone to rape the 22-year-old photo journalist.
The accused wanted to kill the victim and her colleague, but were dissuaded by their accomplice Kasim into letting them go after making the video and threatening the girl. As per the modus operandi of the accused, police fear that they might have been involved in other sexual offences also.
