Jaipur/ New Delhi: Sachin Pilot and 18 other rebel Congress MLAs may find out today whether they can be disqualified from the Rajasthan assembly or not.
The Rajasthan High Court has started the hearing on the plea of the rebels’ challenging the disqualification notice for “defying the party”.
Chief Justice Indrajit Mahanty and Justice Prakash Gupta are hearing the plea challenging disqualification notices by the Rajasthan Speaker.
Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who is representing the Speaker said that Sachin Pilot’s petition is premature and the court’s challenge on the speaker’s order in on limited grounds and those grounds aren’t there in the petition.
Senior counsel Harish Salve and Mukul Rohtagi, representing Pilot and other MLAs, have completed their side of arguments.
Last week, the Congress had told the court that no action would be taken against the rebels till Tuesday, until there was a decision.
