Renowned novelist Yashavanth Chittala no more

Mumbai, March 23 : Renowned novelist and senior writer Yashavanth Chittala passed away at the Leelavathi Hospital in Mumbai during the early hours of March 23, Sunday. He was ailing since some time.

Yashavanth Chittala who was residing at his Bandstand Apartment at Bandra West since the past several years, was admitted to the hospital just a week ago.

Several writers, journalists and admirers visited the residence of the departed writer and paid their last respects.

Yashavanth Chittala is survived by his wife Malathi, two sons and a large number of admirers. His last rites were performed at the Shivaji Park crematorium at Dadar West.

Roy Castelino, President of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy,  Kasargod  Chinna, former president of the Academy, Basti Vaman  Shenoy, Eric Ozario and several others have condoled the demise of Yashavanth Chittala.
