Rajasthan: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot lashed out at the NDA government, alleging misuse of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to target opposition leaders during the ongoing election season. Gehlot claimed that the ED’s continuous raids on the residences of party leaders were a deliberate attempt to distract the opposition, leaving them occupied throughout the day.

“The NDA government is committing a crime, and the country will never forgive them,” Gehlot stated, expressing his strong disapproval of the situation. He further criticized the ED’s actions, pointing out that while Congress leaders were being subjected to inquiries, BJP members were freely participating in the election process.

Gehlot voiced his concerns about the lack of transparency regarding the reasons behind these raids. He emphasized that the ED had not provided any substantial information regarding the ongoing investigations or the findings from the political leaders’ residences. “ED has still not conveyed why they are raiding these political leaders and what they found so far,” Gehlot remarked, questioning the legitimacy of the agency’s actions.

Expressing his frustration, the Chief Minister accused the BJP of using the ED as a tool against the opposition. “Even if they (BJP) lose elections in all 5 states, it won’t be surprising,” Gehlot stated, suggesting that the ED’s interference might impact the electoral process unfairly.

Gehlot concluded by stating that the people were closely observing these events and would make their judgment accordingly. His remarks have added fuel to the ongoing political debate, raising questions about the impartiality of law enforcement agencies during crucial electoral periods.
