New Delhi: AICC President Rahul Gandhi is currently on a 12-day yatra without his security detail on Mount Kailash and has challenged people to match the distance covered by him during his pilgrimage.

The Congress scion tweeted out a photo on the Congress party’s official Twitter handle, showing the data on his Fitbit with a message reading: “Leaving all the haters behind, Congress President @RahulGandhi sets the pace during his #KailashYatra.” The Fitbit photo shows that Rahul walked 34.31 kilometres, took 46,433 steps and lost close to 4500 calories in 463 minutes.

Considering that Rahul is constantly at the centre of a whirlwind of controversies, his pilgrimage has not changed anything as many are doubting whether the photos posted by him at Mount Kailash are genuine or if he just swiped a photo from the internet after doing a “Google search.”

Photos of Rahul along with fellow pilgrims have been circulated in the media over the past few days and a video of him interacting and taking photos with the other pilgrims has also gone viral.

This, however, has not calmed the storm of debates and speculations against Rahul Gandhi.

A BJP MP, Giriraj Singh even alleged that the photos posted by Rahul were photoshopped. There were also rumours being spread that the Congress president ate a non-veg meal before embarking on the pilgrimage. The restaurant where Rahul ate has, however, rubbished these rumours saying that he had eaten a pure veg-meal.
