New Delhi: “Counting of postal votes in assembly elections commenced at 8 am on Sunday, revealing mixed outcomes. Congress and BJP are neck and neck in Rajasthan, Congress leads in Telangana and Chhattisgarh, while BJP holds a slight edge in Madhya Pradesh.”

“The results in the four states remain uncertain as postal ballots constitute only 0.4% of the total votes. Physical counting of votes, yet to commence, is anticipated to take about an hour, providing clarity on the overall outcome. The Mizoram assembly election results are rescheduled and will be disclosed on Monday.”

“Initial reports from 638 constituencies across the four states indicate Congress leading with 301 seats, BJP at 258, and 43 for others, including Telangana’s BRS. In Rajasthan, the BJP leads with 96, the Congress at 92, and independents at ten. In Madhya Pradesh, BJP, led by CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, seems to be ahead with 132 seats, while Congress trails with 89, defying earlier projections.”

“In Telangana, Congress holds a significant lead with 63 seats, surpassing the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) at 32, BJP at 12, and others at 8. If this trend continues, it would mark another triumph for Congress in the southern region, following Karnataka. The state has been under the rule of K Chandrashekar Rao‘s BRS since its establishment.”
“In Telangana, Congress takes a commanding lead with 63 seats, surpassing the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) at 32, BJP at 12, and others at 8. If this trend continues, it would secure another state in the southern region for Congress after Karnataka. The state, governed by K Chandrashekar Rao’s BRS since its inception, may witness a significant political shift.”
