Aurangabad: Three CRPF personnel were killed and eight other security officials injured when they were defusing a landmine planted by Maoists in Bihar’s Aurangabad district on Monday.

Naxalites organised an attack to disrupt the political atmosphere of Bihar, the rebels triggered a landmine attack near Baranda turn, which falls under Dhibra police station, on Monday afternoon.

It resulted in the death of three CRPF jawans and injuring eight others however, what’s even more saddening is that Deputy Commandant Inderjeet Singh breathed his last in absence of adequate medical facilities in a hospital where he was shifted for first aid.

He was recorded on TV cameras pleading Director General, Home Minister and Prime Minister for help in the two long hours of wait, before he succumbed to his injuries.

He was seen constantly crying for help, screaming, “I have two small children, please save me or I will die.”

Medical aid only reached after 3-and-a-half hours, but by then, the officer bade his last due to substantial blood loss. Reportedly, there were no doctors in the hospital at that point in time.

Therefore, there was no way possible to arrest his blood loss, which ultimately resulted in the casualty.

Naxalites had installed an IED on the road but CRPF jawans detected it on time. It was while diffusing the bomb that a blast of huge intensity took place.

The site of accident is about 500 meters from Dhibra police station, four jawans were shifted to the RIMS Ranchi and four to Magadh Medical College and Hospital.
