Bengaluru/New Delhi: Air travel is always a risk, so is any other means of travel but a considerable amount of fear is attached to air travel. Turbulence and mild hiccups are enough to give anyone with a weak stomach a panic attack.

One can only imagine the plight of the passengers of a Mumbai to Bengaluru IndiGo flight on the night of January 9, when the plane faced a major technical difficulty after taking off, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing. The pilot however, was able to return to Mumbai and land the plane safely, after he was forced to take precautionary measures after declaring an emergency situation.

It is reported that an engine failure is the reason behind the IndiGo 6E 565 flight’s emergency landing at the Mumbai airport. The flight was carrying around 180 passengers at the time. The passengers were taken to Bengaluru on an alternate flight that was arranged for them.

The incident has been reported to the DGCA and is currently under investigation.
