Hyderabad: In a bid to strengthen the ‘Mahagatbandhan’ for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, leaders including West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, former prime minister of India and Janata Dal (S) Supremo H D Deve Gowda, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal, Tejashwi Yadav of Rashtriya Janata Dal, National Conference’s Farooq Abdullah and Sharad Pawar will be campaigning for Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra Pradesh.

The support for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) by the opposition leaders has, however, left the Congress in the state to contest the elections on its own. It is to be noted that the Congress has lost its ground in the state over the last few years and is struggling to re-establish itself.

Kejriwal will campaign on March 28 in Vijaywada and March 31 in Vizag, where he will be joined by Mamata Banerjee. Deve Gowda and Sharad Pawar will campaign in Ananthapur and Kurnool districts.

Farooq Abdullah is already in AP and will be touring the Kadapa and Kurnool constituencies along with Naidu. Tejashwi Yadav will be campaigning in Nellore district on April 2.

Reportedly, Yashwanth Sinha is also expected to extend his support to the campaign.

Naidu will be contesting without any alliance for the first time this year and he faces the challenges of retaining his position in the state and also managing to win majority seats.
