New Delhi: In celebration of India’s 72nd Independence Day, Google has dedicated a “truck-art” doodle. Google writes that the inspiration comes from the traditional “Indian truck art” that surrounds lonely truckers “with cheerful folk art to occupy their minds during long months away from their families.”

The doodle depicts the common motifs seen on vehicles on Indian roads. It celebrates the Indian-ness in this cheerful folk art. Common wild animals of India including, tiger- the national animal, peacock- the national bird, lotus- the national flower, mango- the dominant fruit of Indian summers and an elephant occupy the space in the doodle.

It even has the lemon-chilli combo, commonly dangling from trucks, just for a good measure of luck too.
