New Delhi: The equation between the friends-BJP and the Shiv Sena is turning not so friendly off late and the latter has been making it evident. After taking a filmy-style jibe at the BJP for the economic slowdown, in its last editorial in party’s mouthpiece ‘Saamna’, the Sena has now shot a very strong message to the BJP.
“There is not Dushyant Chautala here whose father is in jail. We do politics of truth in Maharashtra. If someone tries to keep us away from power, I think it is not the politics of truth. We are observing what is happening and how low people can stoop,” Sena MP Sanjay Raut said taking a dig at Ajay Chautala, father of BJP’s ally Dushyant Chautala, who got a furlong from jail recently after the BJP joined hands with Dushyant Chautala’s JJP.
The message comes in the backdrop of the seat-sharing agreement between the two in Maharashtra. The Sena has said that the agreement that took place between Amit Shah and Uddhav Thackeray before polls were about a 50:50 sharing and the same must be fulfilled. The regional giant is now also pitching for CM’s position for young Aaditya Thackeray.
Meanwhile, Raut has also hinted at the possibility of withdrawing support. “Shiv Sena is not power-hungry. We cannot murder democracy. The party wants all pre-poll agreements to be fulfilled,” he said adding that there were many other options available, but the Sena was not keen on going with them.
Sources say that the Sena members are waiting for Amit Shah’s visit and this time the regional party is in no mood to compromise with the CM’s post. If things do not go their way then the regional party may take some stern decision and also boycott the swearing-in ceremony of Devendra Fadnavis.
