New Delhi: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has taken legal action against Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and party general secretary Jairam Ramesh for allegedly distorting and misrepresenting one of his interviews on a certain platform.

Gadkari contends that the Congress shared a 19-second audio-visual clip of his interview, deliberately omitting the context and distorting its intended meaning. He accuses them of aiming to create confusion and tarnish his reputation through this “sinister act.”

In the legal notice, Gadkari demanded the removal of the post within 24 hours and a written apology within three days. He asserts that the clip, which surfaced on a microblogging site, has caused significant damage to his reputation and credibility.

The shared video clip features Gadkari expressing concerns about the conditions in villages, emphasizing the challenges faced by villagers in accessing basic amenities like roads, water, hospitals, and schools. However, Gadkari alleges that the Congress selectively edited the clip to portray him in a negative light, ignoring his acknowledgment of the government’s efforts and positive outcomes.

Gadkari accuses the Congress of deliberately misinterpreting his statements and attempting to provoke ideological divides within the BJP. He emphasizes that the clipped video lacks context and misrepresents his views.

As of now, the Congress has not responded to the legal notice.
