New Delhi: Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will address media at 4 pm, on Wednesday, May 13 and share details of Rs 20 lakh crore economic package announced by the PM.
Keeping in mind the Indian economy that has been badly hit by the lockdown imposed across the nation to contain the Corona pandemic, PM Modi announced Rs 20 lakh crore on Tuesday evening.
The announced package, which includes the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)’s assistance and a Rs 1.74 lakh crore fund announced earlier, is equivalent to 10 per cent of India’s GDP.
After announcing the package, the PM had said that the details of the package would be shared by Finance Minister Sitharaman and accordingly the Finance Minister will hold a press briefing today.
Earlier, Sitharaman, in a series of tweets called the package announced by PM Modi as not just a financial package but a “reform stimulus and a mindset overhaul”.
