New Delhi: A six-year-old girl was found with her throat slit near a public toilet in the Badarpur area of southern suburb here  on Friday April 26 evening.

The police sources informed that they are awaiting a medical report to confirm if the child was raped.

According to the police, the girl was attacked inside the toilet, which is close to the slum where she lived.

The girl underwent a three-hour long surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Friday night . She is believed to be in stable condition now.

The police have detained 22 people for questioning and have arrested the attendant of the public toilet where the girl was found.
