New Delhi: In a rare incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi received backlash during his monthly talk show, Mann Ki Baat, when netizens mobilised to “dislike” the show that was uploaded on YouTube on August 30.

The show, which is aired by All India Radio, Door Darshan and some number of private channels, was uploaded on the BJP’s official Youtube channel and received so many “dislikes” that they outnumbered the “likes”.

Additionally, in the comments section, YouTube users called out the Prime Minister for his silence of various serious issues, including the JEE and NEET exams which are scheduled to be held on September 13.

It can be recalled that students all over the country have been voicing their opposition to the holding of the JEE and NEET entrance exams during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the flood situation in many states. They have been urging the government to postpone the exams as they are facing difficulties with transport and other issues, however, the latter has stuck to its stand. Even the Supreme Court dismissed a plea seeking the deferment of the tests.

From the backlash on YouTube, it is clear that the people were expecting PM Modi to speak about the issue and possibly announce a postponement of the exams.
