New Delhi : In a sudden U-Turn,  actor turned politician Nagma who is contesting on a Congress ticket from Meerut has outrightly denied  the reports that she was molested during campaigning in  Uttar Pradesh.” Neither has anyone tried to kiss me nor did I slap anyone,” the actress said while speaking to a National TV Channel and also dismissed the incidents as ‘humbug.’In fact, the actress claimed that the MLA who reportedly tried to kiss her, treated her like his daughter.

This development comes even as her party has requested the Election Commission to provide security to the 39 year old Nagma.

The Congress letter to the Election Commission said that the “crowds  which she (Nagma) is attracting require special attention of the local administration to maintain order.”

Here it is worth mentioning that two incidents which were caught on camera in the past  two weeks, had  hit national headlines. In one instance, a Congress MLA Gajraj Sangh had allegedly kissed the actress on her cheeks. The clipping was aired on TV channels and had also gone viral on the internet. Following the incident, a visibly upset Nagma was seen walking away without addressing the meet. In another instance she slapped a man who reportedly tried to grope her. Following the two incidents, the actress had  reportedly hired  guards to safeguard herself.

Nagma has now defended Gajraj Singh stating  he only wanted to talk to her  something ‘sensitive’ and that he was not media savvy.

The Congress  meanwhile seems to be not keen to take action against Gajraj Singh who reportedly was a powerful leader in Meerut, fearing any such move may affect the party’s prospects in Meerut.

Even Nagma   has ruled out any possibility of avoiding visits to Meerut and said ‘Though it is a bit hectic, I have to enjoy the ride.”
