Mumbai Kannadigas hold candle light vigil for Sowjanya

Mumbai : Kannadigas living in Mumbai held a candle light vigil in front of  the Vashi railway station on November 4  in memory of Sowjanya, the Ujire SDM College student who was brutally raped and murdered at Pangala near Dharmasthala a year ago. Members of various  Kannada associations of Mumbai participated in the  programme held at 6.30 pm.

A meeting held at  Navi Mumbai Kannada Sangha later on  resolved to urge the government to hand over the case to the CBI.

President of Kempegowda Association Somashekar Gowda, Journalist JS Puria, Social worker Mala Karunakara and others participated in the meeting.
