New Delhi : After the price hike of LPG cylinders the Congress is trying to make amends in view of the up-coming LS polls which the Congress will fight under the leadership of party vice president Rahul Gandhi. Oil Minister M Veerappa Moily on January 17, Friday said that the quota of subsidized cooking cylinders will be raised by 12 cylinders per household.
Rahul Gandhi had lately promised to raise the LPG cap of subsidized cooking cylinders. M Veerappa Moily who until last week had maintained that there was no proposal for raising the quota of subsidized LPG cylinders a household is entitled to in a year, said the decision will be announced after the Cabinet approves of it.
Oil Ministry officials said they will move a proposal for the consideration of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs or Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs.
The proposal if approved would surely be a great reprieve to LPG consumers.
