New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday sent a stern mesage to non-performing government officials who have not corrected their professional conduct despite repeated warnings.
During his monthly interaction with central government secretaries and chief secretaries of states, PM asked for strict action against concerned officials.

Earlier he also held a meeting of his council of ministers to review progress on schemes related to some ministries PM and laid thrust on faster delivery of government initiatives. The meeting lasted about two-and-half-hours.

The sources said the meeting reviewed schemes and government initiatives related to ministries such as agriculture, chemical and fertilizer and water resources.

Modi’s meeting with his team of ministers to review implementation of schemes came a day after his government completed 20 months in office.

The coming year is crucial for the government as it will be completing half of its term. Four major states will go the polls in the first half of this year.

The opposition has accused the Modi government of being high on promises and low on delivery. It has also slammed the government over rise in prices of some food items such as pulses.
