New Delhi: In a horrifying incident, a man massacred 13 members of his own family before hanging himself to death, in Thane district of Maharashtra on Saturday.

The incident took place in the city’s Kasarvadavli area when the assailant Asnain Anwar Warekar, slit the victims’ throats one after the another after sedating them.

Sources said  35-year-old  Warekar, who was found with a knife in his hand had gone on a killing spree over alleged property dispute.

In the incident, 14 including the accused were killed. However, among the 14 attacked seven are children and seven are adults,of whom one woman managed to survive the brutal attack.

The bodies have been sent to Thane Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
