Man claiming to be Tiger Memon arrested

New Delhi: A man who identified himself as Mumbai serial blasts mastermind Tiger Memon was arrested by authorities during raids in Pakistan’s Karachi on Wednesday, September 2.

 The man was later known to be as Fukran who was wanted in several cases in Pakistan.

 Furkan’s arrest initially triggered intense speculation in the national media that Tiger Memon, the prime conspirator of 1993 Mumbai blasts, was arrested in Pakistan.

 However, later it was brought to light that a person named Fukran was harassing girls and threatening people in the name of fugitive underworld don Tiger Memon and that the police has charged him under respective cases.

 Tiger Memon is wanted by the Interpol and the CBI in connection with the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts after which he flew to Dubai and has been in hiding ever since.

The alleged mastermind of the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, Memon called up his family just an hour ahead of his younger brother Yakub’s execution at the Nagpur Central Jail on July 30.
