Mumbai: A 35-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife, chopping her body into four parts, and hiding three of them in the refrigerator and one in the bedroom of his flat in Bhayander.

The Navghar police are yet to determine the motive of the murder as well as when the woman was killed. Furthermore is also said that she holds a French passport but it is not confirmed.  

The Thane rural additional superintendent, Sangramsinh Nishandar said, “The exact date when Girish Kote killed his wife Madhubanti (32) will be known only after interrogation and the postmortem report.”

The murder came to light on Tuesday night, when Kote’s brother informed the police as Girish had confessed the crime to him, but did not tell that he had also chopped her body into pieces. 

When the police searched the flat, they were shocked to find three parts of her body inside the refrigerator, and one in the bedroom. The police arrested Kote, but are yet to recover the murder weapon.

The couple, who also have a two-year-old son, would quarrel often as per the sources. They lived in 14th floor rented flat at Nakshatra Tower for the past seven months.
