Kochi: As the debate on the Sabarimala verdict intensifies, more prominent figures are coming out in opposition of the same that was delivered on September 28. Kollam Thulasi, a Malayalam actor, on Friday, October 12, made some rather disturbing remarks with regard to the verdict during a protest held by the BJP.

The Supreme Court had, on September 28, legalised entry into the famed Sabarimala temple for the women between the ages of 10 and 50, bringing and age old tradition to an end.

Seemingly unable to come to terms with the verdict, the actor, in true ‘Godfather’ fashion, reportedly threatened to rip any woman entering the temple in two, adding that one half would sent to Delhi and the other half thrown at the Chief Minister’ office.

The verdict has been met with criticism and opposition from across all spheres, ranging from political parties to prominent personalities. Even the sole female justice on the three-judge Constitutional bench, opposed allowing women between the ages of 10 to 50 to enter the temple stating that the court should not interfere in religious matters.
