New Delhi: A major earthquake struck the North and Northeast India. Massive tremors that lasted between 30 seconds and nearly a couple of minutes were felt after a huge 7.5 magnitude earthquake in Nepal.

In Delhi and parts of the National Capital Region, people were seen running out of their houses after buildings shook for well over a minute.
There are reports of tremors from Patna, Lucknow, Kolkata, Jaipur, Chandigarh and other cities.
“Epicenter was 83 kilometres North West of Kathmandu, Nepal, measured 7.4 on Richter scale,” said European Mediterranean Seismological Center.
