Nashik, Maharashtra: A 30-year-old woman died by suicide in Maharashtra’s Nashik city on Wednesday, while her two children were found dead in her home, an official said.
Authorities suspect that Ashwini Nikumbh, the deceased, may have poisoned her children, Aaradhya (8) and Agastya (2), prior to her own death. The incident occurred around 7 am when Ashwini jumped from the terrace of Hari Vandan Apartment in the Konark Nagar locality.
Following a notification from neighbors, law enforcement arrived at the scene and discovered the bodies of her two children in her residence. During the incident, her husband was away from the city.
A handwritten note, purportedly authored by Ashwini, was recovered by the police, wherein she attributed her actions to alleged mistreatment by her husband, Swapnil. Prior to her suicide, she also recorded a video message implicating Swapnil for driving her to take such drastic measures, which she then shared with relatives, an official disclosed.
Swapnil, who was in Pune for professional obligations, has been summoned to assist with the investigation, according to the official.
