In Phaltan, close to Satara, lightning struck an electric scooter, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old student at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) and the injury of two more pupils. According to officials, the incident was reported at Sarde village on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Ahmednagar district resident Gyaneshwar Dhole. Vikram Dhaygude and Prathamesh Bhise were the other two people hurt in this incident.

It was raining heavily as three students from the nearby Industrial Training Institute (ITI) rode the quirky scooter. The scooter was struck by lightning, which resulted in significant damage.

Dhaygude and Bhise, who were hurt, were sent to a hospital in Baramati right away.
