Mumbai: Former Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam officially joined the Shiv Sena, led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, on Friday.
Nirupam, a former Mumbai MP, had parted ways with the Shiv Sena nearly twenty years ago. His decision to join the Shiv Sena comes after being expelled from the Congress last month for alleged “anti-party activities.” Nirupam joined the Shiv Sena in the presence of CM Shinde.
Notably, Nirupam had previously served as the editor of ‘Dophar Ka Saamana,’ the Hindi mouthpiece of the undivided Shiv Sena.
