The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Dakshina Kannada unit convened its Booth Karyakarta Convention on March 12 at Sanghaniketan, Mangaluru. During the event, Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the party’s accomplishments and future objectives.
Fadnavis acknowledged the strong connection between Mumbai and Mangaluru and expressed confidence in the BJP’s performance in the upcoming 2024 elections. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government for its achievements in the past decade, highlighting its focus on corruption-free governance and poverty alleviation.
The deputy chief minister underscored the importance of infrastructure development, citing examples such as medical colleges and the new education policy. He criticized the opposition, particularly the Congress, for its failure to deliver on promises and its alleged support for anti-national elements.
Fadnavis lauded Modi’s leadership in addressing unemployment and economic challenges, predicting India’s rise to become the world’s third-largest economy under his tenure. He also commended recent successes in the defence sector, including missile launches and India’s participation in international summits.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel echoed Fadnavis’s sentiments, highlighting the BJP government’s achievements in Karnataka, including the enactment of laws against cow slaughter and religious conversions. He emphasized the party’s commitment to fulfilling promises and maintaining integrity in governance.
Regarding seat-sharing arrangements and recent political developments, Fadnavis assured that decisions would be made and announced publicly in due course. He also affirmed Maharashtra’s readiness to assist in national security matters, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing public safety over political considerations.
The convention concluded with renewed enthusiasm among party members, pledging their dedication to the BJP’s goals and objectives.
