Jabalpur: A 27-year-old nurse sustained injuries after allegedly being shot at by a male doctor following a dispute regarding her suspected involvement with another man in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, as per a statement from a police official.
The suspect, identified as Dr. Sandeep Soni, aged 34, was apprehended, reported Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Priyanka Shukla.
“He was apprehended for discharging two rounds at the nurse amid suspicions of her involvement with another individual,” she stated.
According to Shukla, the nurse had been in a romantic relationship with the doctor, but recently, she had grown closer to an old acquaintance. “The doctor became aware of this situation. An altercation ensued between the two regarding the matter, resulting in the accused firing at her in a fit of anger with a locally-made firearm,” the official elaborated.
The nurse sustained injuries to her ribs and was admitted to a medical facility for treatment, Shukla confirmed.
She further added that the police have filed a case against the doctor on charges of attempted murder and under the Arms Act.
