Madhya Pradesh bypolls: Two ministers of Shivraj govt trailing

Bhopal: In Madhya Pradesh, counting of votes is underway in 28 assembly constituencies. Although the BJP had take a sizeable lead by 1.30 pm, two ministers in the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government appear to be badly lagging behind.

When trends last came in, the BJP was leading on 20 seats, the Congress on seven and the BSP on one. Figures provided by the Election Commission of India show that minister Adal Singh Kansana is trailing at the Sumavali assembly constituency with a margin of more than 14,000 votes behind Congress candidate Ajab Singh Kushwaha.

Similarly, in the Dimani assembly constituency, Minister Girraj Dandautia is trailing behind Congress candidate Ravindra Singh Tomar by more than 7,000 votes.

A total of 355 candidates are in the fray in the state. This time, apart from BJP and Congress, the BSP has fielded candidates in all the 28 assembly constituencies.
