Srinagar : Officials reported that seven visitors perished in a car crash on Tuesday in the Zojila Pass area, which connects the Ladakh region with the Kashmir Valley.

Authorities claimed that close to Yadav Morh on the Zojila Pass, a car with the tourists and the driver lost control and plunged into a steep valley.

“The driver of the vehicle suffered grave injuries in this tragedy, and seven Keralan tourists lost their lives.

“The injured driver has been shifted to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Srinagar for specialised treatment,” an official said.

Police started a relief and rescue operation immediately after receiving the news of the tragic accident.
