Srinagar: Iram Habib (30), is all set to take Kashmir by flight as she joins a private airline in September, embarking on her journey as the first Muslim woman of Kashmir. Iram’s journey of becoming a pilot was not an easy one, considering her origin in the conservative Kashmiri Muslim Society. She reflects that she also had to make a tough choice of giving up her dream of achieving a doctorate in forestry to follow her childhood ambition of becoming a pilot.
Close on the heels of Tanvi Raina, a Kashmiri (Pundit) who made headlines when she joined Air India as the Valley’s first woman pilot in 2016, and also the 21-year-old Kashmiri Ayesha Aziz, who became India’s youngest student pilot, Iram Habib is all set to make her niche in the history of incredible women.
