Thiruvananthapuram: In a tragic incident near Vellarada in southern Kerala, a woman was allegedly burned to death in her own home by her elder son, as reported by the police.
The incident took place during the early hours of Friday, according to authorities. The younger son of the victim discovered his mother’s charred remains when he went to deliver her food in the morning and promptly informed the police.
Currently, the elder son is in police custody, and his statement is being documented. His formal arrest will follow, pending the completion of further investigative procedures, stated an officer from the Vellarada police station.
Additional details will be disclosed only after the completion of the inquest proceedings, the officer added.
