Kerala: A 28-year-old man identified as Ajmal Shereef from Aluva, Kerala, died by suicide after sharing an obituary post for himself on his Instagram page. The devastating incident unfolded around 6:30 PM on Friday when Ajmal was found hanging inside a room at his residence.
According to the police, Ajmal Shereef was grappling with feelings of depression, exacerbated by the challenges of securing suitable employment. The family attested to his emotional struggles in the period leading up to the tragic event. Ajmal’s aspirations and mental health appear to have been adversely affected by his difficulties in finding a satisfactory job.
In a poignant gesture preceding his decision to end his life, Ajmal shared a post on his Instagram page featuring his photo alongside a caption that read ‘RIP Ajmal Shereef 1995-2003.’ The choice to post an obituary for himself on a platform with over 14,000 followers suggests a profound sense of despair and a possible cry for help.
Following the discovery of Ajmal’s lifeless body, the necessary legal procedures were initiated.
