Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala): The team investigating the Perumbavur murder case has claimed that it has nabbed the main accused of the spine-chilling incident.

The culprit is learnt to be a Bengali migrant worker, Hari Kumar.
According to sources, the culprit was nabbed by the police due to the vital clues from the victim’s body. Hari Kumar is said to have gaps in between his front teeth. Dr Liza John, associate professor in forensic medicine who did the autopsy at the Alappuzha medical college, had taken photographs of the bite marks from the victim’s body which helped the police nab the culprit.
It is said that the cause of the murder was personal enmity and not sex.
The government has instructed the police to announce the arrest of the culprit on Sunday, a day before the polls.
It may be recalled that, a dalit women raped and murdered on April 28. The brutality of the case has evoked comparisons in the media with the gang rape and torture of a 23-year-old woman in New Delhi in 2012, which sparked nationwide protests.
