Thiruvananthapuram: Jineesh Jeron, who previously, had saved many people during the Kerala flood rescue operation died in a road accident in his hometown.
Jisheen who was just 24, was riding his bike when he fell on the road and came under a moving truck receiving severe injuries. He was rushed to a private hospital where he died of his severe injuries.
Jineesh and his friend were on their way to Tamil Nadu when the accident took place, he was cremated in St. Thomas Church cemetery in the presence of all the people whom he had saved during the floods. Even Chengannur MLA Saji Cherian arrived for the funeral.
Just a month ago, Jineesh and other fishermen were accorded a grand reception for their valour during the floods. Jineesh was also a member of Coastal Warriors that travelled to the heavily affected areas of Alappuzha, especially Chengannur.
Previously Jineesh was in the headlines for saving people in marooned houses and buildings and being awarded by the government a felicitation.
