New Delhi: Commenting on “religion-based political strategy”, former Governor of Karnataka Hansraj Bhardwaj has criticised the AICC President Rahul Gandhi, here on Thursday, November 15.

He said that he had never considered Rahul as a leader and alleged that the current situation of the Congress in the nation was due to religion-based politics by the party.

He opined that Rahul can be a leader only when people accept him.

Lauding Congress leaders Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, Bhardwaj said that they had not led the party or fought the elections, based on religion.

He said that he belonged to Brahmin community and that he had made donations to the temples, but had never played politics in the name of religion.

According to his observation, the current generation of the Congress is not on the right track.
