Kolkata :Justice A.K. Ganguly finally resigned as Chairman of West Bengal Human Rights Commission today, sources said.

He is said to have submitted his resignation to the West Bengal Governor M.K. Narayanan, whom he visited at Raj Bhavan here. However, Ganguly refused to speak to the media as he was leaving the Governors residence.
A statement is expected from the Raj Bhavan soon.
The former Supreme Court judge has been in the centre of a controversy ever since a law intern accused him of sexually harassing her.
Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court refused to entertain a PIL seeking its direction to stay all proceedings against its former judge, who is facing allegations of sexual harassment.
