New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Friday released photographs of nine suspects identified for the server room attack at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) last week.

Among the nine suspects is Aishe Gosh, the JNU Students Union President, who was brutally attacked by miscreants on Sunday evening when masked miscreants entered the JNU campus and went on a rampage attacking students and teachers. The server attack episode had taken place before the Sunday attack.

The cops have mostly named the left-affiliated students’ union members for the violence and let out very few details on the Sunday attack.

Delhi Police officials named Chunchun Kumar, Pankaj Mishra, Aishe Ghosh, Waskar Vijay, Sucheta Talukdar, Priya Ranjan, Dolan Sawant, Yogendra Bhardwaj and Vikas Patel.

Yogendra Bhardwaj and Vikas Patel are said to be members of the BJP-linked Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad or ABVP.

Addressing a press conference, DCP (Crime Branch) Joy Tirkey said that many students wanted to register for the winter semester from January 1 to 5, but the left-leaning students’ bodies prevent them from doing so.

In a bid to stop the online registration, left groups attacked the server room. They also intended to enforce a strike over their protest against the increased fees.

The police, meanwhile, also said that since the server room was damaged the probe into Sunday’s attack was getting difficult.

Aishe denies charges

Meanwhile, denying the charges leveled against her by the cops, Aishe Ghosh said that she was not the one who was wearing the mask and that she has not done any wrong.

“I was not the one in a mask… I am the one who was affected. I still have my blood-soaked clothes,” Ghosh told in a news conference.
