According to seasoned party leader Jairam Ramesh, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is ill and will not be speaking at election rallies in Madhya Pradesh or Jharkhand today.
Rahul Gandhi was supposed to campaign today in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, and Ranchi, Jharkhand, in a major demonstration of the opposition alliance’s strength.
“Rahul Gandhi has fallen ill and he won’t be able to leave Delhi at present. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will address the Ranchi rally after taking part in a public gathering in Satna,” Mr Ramesh said on X – earlier known as Twitter.

Ahead of the massive rally, posters featuring leaders of the INDIA bloc have been displayed in Ranchi. These leaders include Sonia Gandhi, party MP Rahul Gandhi, AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren.
Mr. Kharge is anticipated to speak at the rally in Ranchi, along with National President of the Samajwadi Party Akhilesh Yadav, Chief Judicial Officer Lalu Prasad, Sunita, the wife of Arvind Kejriwal, and Kalpana, the wife of Hemant Soren.
