Kothagudem: The JD (Join for Development) Foundation in Bhadrachalam has extended a helping hand to a struggling family, enabling them to embark on a small-scale business venture. Shailaja and Mahesh, a couple working as daily laborers in the local market, were provided support by the foundation to kickstart their own enterprise. Recognizing the family’s financial hardships, the foundation members facilitated the establishment of a small food business by providing them with a pushcart and necessary utensils.
The inauguration of the newly established enterprise was officiated by Kambhampati Suresh Kumar, Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce. Praising the efforts of the JD Foundation, he commended their initiative, known as Upadhi Bharosa, aimed at promoting financial independence among the underprivileged. He highlighted Bhadrachalam as the pioneering location where the foundation initiated such impactful programs, inspiring similar endeavors by other NGOs in the region and beyond.
Murali Mohan Kumar, Convener of the JD Foundation, revealed that this marks the establishment of the 19th shop initiated by the foundation in Bhadrachalam and its vicinity. Under the Upadhi Bharosa initiative, the foundation is dedicated to fostering a culture of self-sufficiency with the motto “bye bye to freebies, jai jai for those who work hard.”
The event witnessed the presence of foundation coordinator Hansi Pawan Kumar, along with Vinila Devi, Kadali Nagaraju, Konjerla Nagesh, and other members.
