Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized on Sunday that the discussions between India and China are progressing smoothly and within a positive atmosphere, asserting India’s steadfastness. Speaking in Ahmedabad during his campaign for BJP candidates in the Lok Sabha elections, Singh highlighted India’s evolving military strength and its desire for amicable relations with neighboring nations.

Asserting India’s transformation into a militarily potent nation, Singh underscored the nation’s intention to foster cordial ties with neighboring countries. Addressing queries regarding Rahul Gandhi’s criticism of the Modi government’s handling of Chinese aggression, Singh reaffirmed that ongoing talks between India and China are constructive, urging patience for their outcomes.

Singh further conveyed confidence in the trajectory of India’s defense exports, which surpassed the ₹21,000 crore milestone during the fiscal year 2023-24. Comparing the exponential growth from ₹600 crore in 2014, Singh predicted a continued upward trend in defense exports.

Highlighting the Modi government’s commitment to indigenous defense production, Singh stressed the importance of manufacturing defense equipment within India and by Indian entities. He noted that the current defense production has exceeded ₹1 lakh crore, encompassing a range of items from missiles to tanks.
