Kolkata: Two people were killed and another injured in a shootout over property in Kolkata early this morning.

The shooting took place at 4.30 am at a home from where a nursery school is run on Short Street near the home of the city’s Police Commissioner.

A group of 15 people allegedly forced their way into the school; it’s not clear whether the security guards posted there or the outsiders opened fire yet.

The school principal is among four people who have been detained by the police, reports news agency PTI. She claims she had complained recently to the police about threats she had received over the property.

The police is examining security camera footage to piece together the chain of events.
