Kerala: In a shocking case, a man is said to have murdered a 38-year-old woman and cut off her breast in what is being viewed as an act of revenge at Irumpupalam here on Tuesday.

The victim, Selina, a native of Adimali happens to be a female social worker and had helped to settle a rape case involving the accused, Girosh, 30, around two years ago without legal proceedings on the condition that he would marry the girl.

CCTV footages from nearby shops helped the Idukki police identify Girosh who was arrested from his residence in Thodupuzha on Wednesday.

Reportedly, Girosh held a grudge against Selina for forcing him into the marriage. He is said to have made good with Selina pretending to bury their differences and had gotten involved in financial dealing together.

On Tuesday, Girosh went to Selina’s residence to collect some money that she owed him. However, Selina refused to give him the money angering Girosh. In a fit of rage, Girosh then stabbed her with a knife and went on to cut off her left breast and took it with him in a plastic bag.

Her body was discovered by her husband, Siyad upon returning home at night. The police examined CCTV footages from some shops near Selina’s house and identified Girosh with Siyad’s help.
