Horanadu Kannadigara Rashrtiya Samavesha to be held in New Delhi on Oct 8, 9

Dharwad: The Kannada Sahitya Parishat is set to organize ‘Horanadu Kannadigara Rashtriya Samavesha’, a national convention of Horanadu Kannadigas on October 8 and 9 in New Delhi.

Parishat president Dr. Manu Baligar while speaking to media persons here on Tuesday said that this convention was a much awaited mega event, wherein thousands of Kannadigas residing outside the state will conglomerate and share their work and experience besides enjoying the re-union with fellow Kannadgas.

Subjects such as water and land issues, border issues, medium of instruction and National employment policy among others would be dealt with at the two day convention.

State leaders CS Nadagouda, Mallikarjun Kharge, Ramesh Jigajinagi among others would share the dias with Kannada intellectuals, he said.

The Parishat will organize the 82nd All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelana in Raichur in the first week of December. While there has been many intellectual personalities worth becoming the president of the Sammelana, but the selection would be done at an appropriate moment he said.

“The general body meeting of the Parishat scheduled to be held at Bidar on September 26 would chalk out plans and would take important decisions concerning these two mega events among other routine activities of the Parishat”, he said.

“Parishat had organized a five days workshop on the classical study of Kannada for high school and college students throughout the state, one such workshop on ‘Halegannada’ would be organized at Dharwad in January next year”, he added.
