Hyderabad:One cop has been killed and two policemen from Tamil Nadu were today injured in firing by suspected terrorists, believed to be involved in the recent murders of BJP and Sangh Parivar leaders, in Puthur town of Chittoor district.

A constable and an inspector were injured in the firing on the Andhra Pradesh-Tamil Nadu border, police said. The terror suspects, believed to have been involved in recent murders of BJP and Sangh Parivar leaders in Tamil Nadu, fired at the policemen from a house where they are hiding, police said.

Teams of OCTOPUS (Organisation To Counter Terrorist Operations) force (APs anti-terror organisation) have been rushed to the spot to assist the police (of AP and TN) there, they said. “Special forces have been rushed to the spot to assist the local police team flush out the suspected terrorists who are hiding in the house,” sources said adding that the entire area has been cordoned off.
