Anand: Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress party, likening it to a “disciple” of Pakistan and accusing the neighboring country of hoping to see Rahul Gandhi, referred to as ‘shehzada,’ become India’s next prime minister.
Modi’s remarks surfaced following reports of Pakistani leaders expressing support for Rahul Gandhi and sharing his videos on social media platforms.
Addressing a rally in Anand, Gujarat, in support of BJP candidates, Modi highlighted Pakistan’s alleged interest in Indian politics and its alleged alliance with the Congress. He suggested that Pakistan prefers a weaker government in India and implied that the Congress is receptive to such external influence.
Modi also ridiculed the Congress over recent statements regarding ‘vote jihad,’ referencing comments made by Maria Alam, reportedly related to Salman Khurshid, about mobilizing voters. He criticized the notion, insinuating that it undermines democracy and suggested that it goes against the principles of a secular state.
Further, Modi accused the Congress of contemplating constitutional amendments to grant reservation based on religion, particularly for Muslims. He challenged the Congress to clarify its stance on this matter and vowed to safeguard the existing constitutional provisions for marginalized communities.
