New Delhi: Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj on Saturday assured the Catholic Bishops Council of India (CBCI) delegation that Fr. Tom Uzhunnalil, a Salesian Priest, abducted by the suspected IS militants from Yemen is absolutely safe and that the rumours spread about his Crucification are totally baseless.

She told this to CBCI team, led by CBCI Deputy Secretary General, Monsignor Joseph Chinnayyan.

“We are so happy and relieved to hear this good news about Father Tom,” said Fr Chinnayan as reported in The New Indian Express.

Fr Tom was abducted on March 4 and since then there were rumours that Fr Tom will be executed by his abductors on Good Friday.
