Patna: Former Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey is all set to join the Janata Dal (United), today, September 27.

He had opted for voluntary retirement from service recently and since then speculations have been making rounds with regard to the top cop’s political venture.

However, he had only said that he is a free man now, who can do anything.

Gupteshwar Pandey hit headlines during the probe into the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Pandey had met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna on Saturday and after the meeting Pandey said that he only thanked the Chief Minister for reposing trust on him.

“I discussed nothing political with the Chief Minister. I have worked with him for long and, after retirement, I just wanted to thank him for his support. If and when I decide to join any political party, I will make it known to all,” Gupteshwar Pandey said.

Bihar Election will be held in three phases on October 28, November 3 and November 7 and the votes will be counted on November 10.
