New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has nnounced the fifth and the final tranche of Centre’s Rs 20 lakh crore fiscal stimulus announced by Prime Minister to overcome the onlsaught of the coronavirus and the lockdown on the economy.
The Finance Minister had on Saturday announced a number of structural reforms in the coal, defence and civil aviation sector.
A day earlier, she had announced Rs 1 lakh crore Agri Infrastructure Fund for farm gate infrastructure for farmers and Rs 10,000 crore scheme for the formalisation of Micro Food Enterprises (MFEs) under the Rs 20 lakh crore stimulus package.
On Sunday morning, Sithraman began her address quoting Prime Minister, who said that the stimulus emphasizes on land, labor liquidity and law.
“India will emerge stronger and can tackle this global pandemic. We have helped people with foodgrains. FCI and NAFED have worked tirelessly to make this possible,” she said adding that reforms for eight sectors, namely coal, minerals, defence production, airspace/airport management, aircraft MRO (maintenance-repair-overall), power distribution in union territories, space, and atomic energy have been announced under the last tranche.
Highlights of the address
*51 lakh PPE kits supplied from 300 manufacturers. So far, 87 lakh N-95s have been supplied, 11 crore hydro chloro queen has been produced. The companies were given the facility to do AGM through EGM technology. PM Care funds brought under Corporate Social Responsibility
